So why don’t more companies use brand mascots? Quite simply, most times it gets overlooked. A cartoon brand mascot is the single most powerful marketing tool many companies can deploy. A majority of people, when starting a business, center their efforts around the logo trying to build a brand around a simple graphic symbol. In most cases it doesn’t build a relationship that translate into brand loyalty as well as a mascot would. People simply cant identify with a symbol like they can with a personified character. Despite being viewed as the cornerstone for most brands, the effectiveness of logos still pale in comparison to well-crafted cartoon brand mascots.

Next time you look through a newspaper, magazine, or any other type of advertisement, ask yourself how many of those ads would do a better job of getting your attention if they featured a cartoon character with a big bright smile.

A good friend once told me that you could go through the entire automotive section, and look at pages and pages of dealership ads yet hardly be able to tell them apart from each other.
